Leonardo da Vinci International Airport or simply Rome Fiumicino Airport, also known as just Fiumicino Airport, is an international airport in Rome and the major airport in Italy. It is one of the busiest airports in Europe.It is located in Fiumicino, 35 km west of Rome’s historic city centre.

By train

From Fiumicino Airport reach the centre of Rome quickly by train with Trenitalia.

Regional FL1 trains to/from other stations in Rome, including Rome Tiburtina, with departures every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 30 minutes on weekends and holidays

By bus

Rome can be reached by number of bus companies.

  • COTRAL

Buses depart from Tiburtina station, then stop at Termini station and then straight to Fiumicino Airport – Terminal 1 and 2. And vice versa. The journey takes about 1 hour.

The ticket has a special fare of € 5.00. You can buy it at newsstands, tobacco shops and other sales points in the airport and Termini and Tiburtina stations.You can buy the ticket directly on the bus for the price of € 7.00.

  • SIT BUS SHUTTLE
The buses stop at the BUS hub adjacent to the Terminal 3 exits – Arrivals, bus rank no. 5. To reach them follow the “Regional Bus Station” signs.

The service operates every day, from Monday to Sunday.Tickets can be purchased online or directly on board the bus.Buses leave about every 30 minutes.You can take bus to Termini station(€ 6) or Vatican area(€ 6).

By taxi

Taxi service is available at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 Arrival areas.
Authorized Taxi vehicles are white with a “TAXI” sign on the roof. The symbol of the Municipality of reference is fixed to the front doors and the licence number is on the doors, on the back and inside the vehicle.
Fixed fares (each way) for some destination, including all supplements, are as follows:
•  Rome city center (within the Aurelian Walls): € 48,00
•  Magliana – Parco dei Medici: € 30,00
•  New Rome Fair: € 25,00
•  Ciampino airport: € 50,00
•  Tiburtina Station: € 55,00
•  Ostiense Station: € 45,00
•  Civitavecchia Porto: € 120,00
All the above fares are fixed by the responsible municipality and may change, even without notice.

Rides departing from the airport travelling to a destination within the Grande Raccordo Anulare (and vice versa) cannot exceed € 70.00.
